I missed the Band Marino / As Tall As Lions show at The Social tonight because I completely forgot about it. I’m eager to hear Band Marino’s new stuff, and I didn’t really listen to As Tall As Lions until I caught the tail end of a set here last year, so I’m sure I’d enjoy it a bit more these days. Oh well. C’est la vie.

Speaking of The Social, they’re a non-smoking venue as of late last year. I need to give them more of my patronage; maybe the other local venues will come around. I’ve got nothing against smokers. I’d just like to breathe clean air while I’m having a drink, enjoying another band, or playing a set somewhere. Then again, I’ve had sinus surgery five times and cigarette smoke is an irritant, so I might be biased.
